Our Fire Suppression Aircraft

Four specialized aircraft types ready for seasonal contracts, quick strikes, and emergency response. From single-engine air tankers to amphibious water bombers and air attack coordination.

SEAT

Single Engine Air Tanker
AT802 with a 800 US gallon tank capacity with up to 13,600 gal. delivery per hour per aircraft. Mission capable for up to 4 hours. Fast departures and outstanding maneuverability.

Amphibious

CL-215, capable of delivering up to 1500 US gallons of water with retardant capabilities. Mission capable to up to 4 hours. Delivering large volumes of water to break through the tree canopy to ground level. Cost-effective gallons-delivered - efficient scooping/dropping cycles reduce transit time and mission cost per drop.

Land Based Air Tankers

L-188 with its 3000 gallon, 8 door tank for delivery of water and retardant in one drop or intervals. Certified with Envelope Protection System to enhance pilot safety and awareness during missions. 4 turbine engines providing fast turn around time, from reload to fire. Mission capable for up to 4 hours.

Air Attack Aircraft

Beechcraft King Air 100: Twin engine, long range utility aircraft with mission capable avionics and FM communications for Air Attack Officer. Cargo pod delivers additional cargo capacity with during crew movements.

Twin Commander TC690: Fast twin engine aircraft for maintaining speed with large air tankers. High wings allows for unobstructed view from cockpit. Executive seating.

Over 50 year of total aerial fire suppression experience. 30 year of designated aerial fire suppression support in the Northwest Territories. Buffalo Airways employees some of the most experienced CL-215 and L-188 Aircraft Maintenance Engineers in the world.
